Kawaii means “cute” in Japanese!
July 13 - 17 | 10 AM - 12 PM
In this playful camp, students will explore basic origami creations; like boats, birds and fish. Then we will jump into drawing Kawaii style facial expressions to make unique Kawaii characters, using Cannon Beach as our muse!Think clamshells, waves, bunnies & ice cream! From there, we will use our drawings as inspiration for air-dry clay Kawaii miniatures that can be used for decorating barettes, frames, jewelry, buttons & magnets. There will be even more to explore-can you guess what?
Ages 7-12.
Lori holds a BFA from Gonzaga University and teaches art at Cannon Beach Academy. She’s also a working artist and graphic designer, with her artwork shown in galleries across the Northwest. When she’s not teaching or creating, Lori enjoys life in Gearhart with her husband, daughter, and their two energetic shiba dogs, Yuki and Taiheiyo.
