July 13-17 | 1 PM - 3 PM
This annual mixed media art class is all about COLOR and FUN. It's an opportunity for your child to learn new skills, refine their existing motor skills, explore new mediums and relax into expressing their unique selves. We're also big on group planning, writing out the individual steps and following the "process" on achieving each unique art project.
We'll be using all kinds of mediums. Acrylic paint, water colors, inks, glue, resin, and whatever else we can conjure up for fun.
It pretty likely all the materials we'll be using will also permanently decorate your child's clothing so it's important to wear "play-clothes and shoes" each day so no ones favorite garment is ruined.
The class is best suited for ages 7 & above. 15 students is the absolute max for this intense, fun filled expression of colors.
Having left the corporate arena of 35 years, Miss Karen now pursues her happy place; living on the coast teaching a wide range of mixed media & kiln arts to children and adults alike. She believes everyone has an artsis’s heart and enjoys helping them find a medium they can express their creativity thru. Additionally, creating art experiences that help develop fine motor skills and teach process implementation to help young minds prepare for future requirements, all while having a blast and “just being themselves.” One unique challenge Miss Karen takes to heart is creating art experiences with reclaimed materials that can be found all around us. Supporting the sentiment that EARTH without ART is just EH.
