Join award winning guitarist and Berklee College of Music graduate Brooks Robertson, as he presents an interactive workshop focusing on fundamentals of fingerpicking guitar. There will be an emphasis on right-hand picking techniques utilizing thumb, index, middle, and ring fingers, in the style of Merle Travis, Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed, and more. The workshop will cover how to play using a thumbpick, muting the bass strings, tone, dynamics, proper hand placement and technique, alternating bass patterns, travis picking, and banjo rolls. Robertson will slowly demonstrate and teach each example and will also provide TAB for you to take home and practice with. This workshop is a beginner - intermediate level and all participants are encouraged to bring their guitars. No previous fingerstyle playing experience is necessary, however knowing a few basic chords will be helpful.

“I love the way Brooks teaches, he’s thorough, patient, and accurate in all his information and techniques, and he has a good knowledge of the history of his styles and mentors. Watch out, he’s tough too!” - Tommy Emmanuel
