Time Out Tuesdays

Time Out Tuesdays was a weekly event following the Cannon Beach Farmer's Market in Midtown. Authors, musicians, and actors transformed the Cannon Beach Gallery every week into a lively cultural hub.

Past Events:
The dramatic performances of Tom Stoppard's After Magritte will require a $10 admission fee. A $5 dollar suggested donation will be requested to pay the musicians in August. August 31, 2010: Acoustic Guitar at 6:30:
Wes Wahrmund and the Denizens of the Deep, an Environmental Groove Project. This band will knock your socks off! The CBAA is finishing off our Summer After Market series with a bang. Come for the party and stay for the talent. $5 suggested donation

July 6, 2010 at 6:30pm:
Author, Dr. Julie Brown, Clatsop Community College Writing Instructor, Astoria, Oregon will read from her new book, Writers on the Spectrum: How Autism and Asperger Syndrome have Influenced Literary Writing. (Hans Christian Anderson to Opal Whiteley) Dr. Brown will autograph copies of her book, for sale at the event. Free admission.

July 13, 2010 at 6:30pm:
Karen Temple & Christi Payne. Hands- On Illuminated Letter Making. Karin Temple will autograph copies of her books, including the one she'll read from tonight, In the Company of Saints: A Personal Compedium with Illuminations by Christi Payne, for sale at the event. Free admission.

July 20, 2010 at 6:30 pm:
Authors Jan Priddy, Mark Mizell, Peter Lindsey, Madison Goucher, Elizabeth Cameron, and Albert Wood will read from their New Works of Creative Non-Fiction and Fiction. Come hear what a diverse group of professional, published, local writers are up to. Free admission.

July 27, 2010 at 6:30pm:
Professor Richard Rowland (Astoria Dragon Kiln, Oregon Artist of the Year Governor's Award, Art Professor at Clatsop Community College in Astoria, Oregon, Chief Potter for the Soup Bowl events in Astoria and Tillamook with the Women's Resource Center) and friends: "Geomancy: The Transformation of Space: How do we make use of our physical environment while still sustaining reverence for place?" Sentient Beings welcome. Free admission.

August 3, 2010 at 6:30 & 8 pm:

August 10, 2010 at 6:30 pm:
Swing Cats: Dynamic Astoria Jazz Band: $5 suggested donation. Bring your dance shoes or just come to listen to the North Coast's best swing and jazz band. Have a drink and eat some delicious appetizers from Seasons Cafe. A groovy summer time treat. Sangria, guacamole and chips thanks to the beautiful young new resident and recent new CBAA Board Member, Sophia Shalmiyev.

August 17, 2010: at 6:30 pm:
Bill Hayes, Acoustic Classic Folk Rock Guitar: $5 suggested donation. Cannon Beach's own little treasure on guitar. Let this one man act serenade you with old rock n' roll classics while you sip sangria. Fresh and delicious appetizers from Season's Cafe in Cannon Beach.
